RGT Rating
The Moondrop Ultrasonic TWS offers mixed, yet generally capable, performance for gaming, primarily due to its inclusion of a dedicated 55ms Low-latency Game Mode and support for the LC3 low-delay audio protocol, which ensures a responsive experience suitable for most casual mobile gaming and video watching.
Imaging and Soundstage: 3.5/5
The Ultrasonic provides a solid, well-defined soundstage for a TWS earphone. Directional cues are clear, making them functional for light gaming and spatial awareness in music. However, compared to the best TWS sets, the soundscape can feel a little compressed, and the depth of layering—how distinct instruments feel at different distances—is merely average, warranting a respectable but not top-tier
Sound Signature: Bassy
The hybrid driver system is tuned to the Moondrop VDSF target but with a noticeable emphasis on the low frequencies, giving it a bassy profile. This results in a powerful, deep sub-bass response that adds impact and weight to EDM, hip-hop, and action movie soundtracks. While enjoyable and punchy, this tuning slightly reduces the perceived neutrality compared to Moondrop’s wired offerings. Detail retrieval from the Balanced Armature remains good, providing clarity in the mids and highs, but the overall presentation is driven by the low-end energy.
Comfort: 4/5
The shell design is sleek, lightweight, and engineered for a comfortable, non-fatiguing fit. The standard shape and moderate insertion depth make them suitable for prolonged use, achieving an 8/10 for comfort. They maintain a stable seal during movement without exerting excessive pressure on the ear concha.
Versatility: 4/5
The Moondrop Ultrasonic provides a vibrant, bassy listening experience (7/10 Music) with strong technical capability in its staging (7/10 Imaging) and exceptional low-latency performance (No Delay). However, the persistent need for more power delivery limits its dynamic impact and overall volume ceiling. Overall, it is a fun and comfortable TWS option (7.5/10 overall), best suited for listeners who prioritize a lively low-end and fast synchronization, provided they primarily listen in moderately quiet environments.
