What is the difference between V1 and V2?

Compared to V1, the main upgrades of the V2 series are mainly reflected in two key dimensions: production mode and material quality:

All the V2 series production lines are now made in West lab own factory, completely eliminating outsourcing. Now with full end-to-end control over the entire process—from R&D, production, and assembly to final packaging and quality inspection—ensuring quality control stability for every single batch at the source.

To address the issue of the V1 series having very limited material choices due to cost constraints, the V2 series no longer focuses on material cost, but solely on material quality. For example, the V2 skate has replaced the domestic foam used in V1 with higher-cost Sekisui foam completely resolves the long-standing adhesive residue issue of V1, significantly optimizing the user experience.

After extensive research, West lab found that within the same material category (like pure PTFE), mouse skate smoothness depends far more on the dot’s curvature design and its compatibility with the mousepad than on minor material differences. Because factors like contact surface area interact differently with various mousepad textures—creating vastly different, highly subjective tactile feedback—West lab strongly recommends users buy a sample pack to test against their personal setup and preferences before committing to a bulk purchase.

1. Flat Small Dot (微扁平型小圆点)

  • Dynamic Friction: 0.062 (Fastest)
