West Lab Grip Tape - Universal

Anti-Slip Performance Ranking: White > Black 0.55 > 0.2

Introduction to Grip Tapes

Overview of WEST 0.55 and 0.2 Grip Tapes:

WEST 0.55: Polyurethane (PU) Material

This is a custom solution developed by WestLab.

Thickness: Approximately 0.55mm.

Material: Sweat-absorbing Polyurethane. While the thickness is slightly greater than non-absorbent versions, WestLab chose this because if one is using Polyurethane, the priority must be a combination of anti-slip grip and sweat absorption.

Update: The new version of the 0.55 has an optimized shape. It has been improved to include squares and strips, making it more practical.

Classic WEST 0.2: Silicone Material

Material: Silicone, which allows for a thinner profile.

Thickness: 0.2mm.

Performance: Its main feature is its thinness, and the grip is decent. However, for users with very sweaty hands, WestLab still recommends the Polyurethane (PU) version.

Durability: The lifespan of silicone is generally longer than that of Polyurethane.

Stretchable Adhesive Version WEST 0.2 Grip Tape

The adhesive backing on the Classic WEST 0.2 has been swapped out. It now supports application on curved surfaces.

About the White Version

This is a new model. Some community group members recently provided suggestions to WestLab, which led to the production of this batch of white grip tapes.

Performance: The anti-slip effect is top-tier; it is the grippiest among the three types of grip tapes available.

Regarding Adhesive Residue (Educational Note)

WestLab offers an explanation regarding residue:

In reality, there is no such thing as a grip tape that leaves absolutely no residue. Mouse grip tapes generally use pressure-sensitive adhesive as backing.

Even top-tier adhesives will eventually dry out. Once dry, they are prone to leaving residue. However, the difference between high-quality and low-quality adhesive is very distinct.

WestLab's grip tapes use imported 3M adhesive. It is impossible for them to leave residue in the short term. Residue generally only occurs after the adhesive has completely dried out over a long period.

Poor quality grip tapes might be impossible to peel off even one day after application, or leave the mouse covered in sticky residue that ruins the finish. With high-quality adhesive, even if it dries and leaves residue, it is very simple to clean up. Users can use these products with confidence.
